Adapted Soccer at Sudburnia!

Sudburnia Soccer All abilities programs offer children with intellectual and/or physical disabilities an opportunity to participate in specially designed recreational opportunities.

Every child deserves a chance to build lasting friendships, make memories and feel like they belong. Our All Abilities programming strives for an inclusive environment, designed and adapted for children with any disability or level of behaviour. Whether they use a wheelchair, walker or wear orthotics, or live with an intellectual, communication (ASD) or developmental disability, we provide support and welcome all on the field!

Who: Youth ages 6-18, Young Adults 19-25 

When: Wednesdays 6pm starting Feb 4th St. Charles College Gym

Cost: $75 for 10 weeks

Shirts will be provided. Players will need running shoes. Shin pads will be mandatory.

 

WHO SHOULD REGISTER?

Neurodiverse players with mobility impairments, sensory processing issues, communication difficulties, developmental delays, and other diverse abilities that may be challenging to participate in traditional programs.

Staff coaches and volunteers will focus on creating opportunities for meaningful participation rather than competition.  

Curriculum is based on the following building blocks:

  1. Introduction – working on fundamental motor skills.
  2. Fun games to get everyone involved with a soccer ball.
  3. Technical Skills.
  4. Shooting.
  5. Socialization Building / Development.

*Parents are asked to remain present during sessions. Parents will have the opportunity to network with other families. Parents are not asked to participate, just remain within proximity*
